20 Million Dollar Justice! Troy Rafferty, JD. spearheaded legislation for Compensation to Dozier School for Boys Survivors

I sit down with Attorney Troy Rafferty, with Levin, Papantonio Rafferty Law Firm in Pensacola, FL and the paralegal on his legal team, Ms. Taxie Lambert.

We discuss the Landmark Legislation that brought 20million dollars in Compensation to the Dozier School for Boys Survivors. The young boys endured beatings, rape, and torture and some did not make it out of the State run 'reform school' for boys, in Marianna, FL. It finally shut down in 2011.

Troy Rafferty teamed up with Florida State House District 1 Representative Michelle Salzman who sponsored HB21; it flew through every committee and House/Senate votes unanimously. At the time of this recording, it is awaiting the Governor's signature.

The Survivors, some of them Marine Corps and Army Veterans, after decades long road to seeking acknowledgement, testified about their experiences and finally heard Justice prevail. One survivor said, he didn't want Dozier to win.
